I support artists in their intellectual journeys, guiding them through reading, writing, and research as they develop their critical and creative practices. My coaching is rooted in dialogue, reflection, and deep engagement with original ideas.
I directed Black Speaks Back’s latest short film Zwarte Ibis. This experimental short film portrays a young Black woman’s quest for intimacy in a world where the boundaries between the individual and the collective, the political and the personal, the past and the present, become ever blurrier.
In 2023, I was awarded a fellowship at the Racism & Technology Center to work on a project focused on the intersection of racism and technology. The project critically explores the tensions between technological advancement and its supposed liberatory potential in a post-work future.
This dissertation critically examines the ways Black people in Belgium engage with media to forge connections, sustain cultural memory, and challenge dominant narratives. Submitted in 2022 to Ghent University for the degree of Doctor in Communication Science.
